Wahroonga Netball Club has a strong association with Prouille Catholic School, after the school based Water St Netball Club merged with Wahroonga in 2018.
The club plays in the Ku-ring-gai Netball Association in the winter and spring competitions, forming over 25 teams from Net Set Go Teams right up to Seniors. Games are played on Saturdays at Canoon Rd Netball Courts, or at Loftberg Netball Courts at West Pymble.
Netball is the most popular girls team sport in Australia, which fosters a love for the game, being physically active and making new friends.
As a result of the merge, teams can be formed in Under 6,7,8 years as Prouille based teams as part of the Net Set Go competition, allowing them to train together with friends at the school. We have close to 20 girls from Year 1 playing netball in 2018, and we hope their enthusiasm and love for the game will continue.
From Under 9s netball teams are graded, which allows more skill development and https://www.facebook.com/WahroongaNC/ friendships to foster with children in the area outside of school. The club provides opportunities for girls to learn how to coach a team, and umpire netball when they reach into high school.
Registration open in January for the winter competition.
